HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL

St. Ann's School, Ajithsingh Nagar (Co-Education) is a Roman Catholic, Minority Institution established by the Society of the Sisters of St Ann in the year of 1988. The school is now registered under St. Ann's Educational Society, Vijayawada.

Years ago Ajithsingh Nagar was an uninhabited low lying waste To provide job opportunity for the under privileged, we have land which gave shelter to a large number of people who were living in slums on the Bandar Canal Bank. Lack of medical and educational facilities made the life of the people indeed pathetic and the same was noticed by the municipal authorities In 1962 the municipality requested the Sisters of St. Ann to come to the rescue of the people by providing Medical Care & Educational facilities.

School Building

The sisters immediately started with a health care centre but could not start a school. Due to lack of personnel, starting a school remained as a dream in the hearts of many. The long awaited hopes of the people of this area was fulfilled, when we started E.M. School here on June 21st 1988. Rt. Rv. Joseph Thumma Bishop of Vijayawada inaugurated the School which then started with L.K.G. Class. 

An integral development of the children entrusted to our care is made possible through a sound intellectual, physical, moral and cultural formation. The school will encourage personal responsibility, healthy competitions and leadership qualities because what we aim is good character with a discipline. 

The curriculum is arranged so as to prepare students for the ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) Examinations. The medium of the School being English and since we cannot fall short of the expected standard, the co-operation of the parents is a must and it is the secret of the success of our children. 

AIM OF THE SCHOOL

The object of this institution is to prepare future citizens who would think and work for the Mother land with a spirit of dedication has irrespective of their difference in caste, creed or religion. It expects the child to turn out to be a person of God and Good character from whom knowledge, high principles, culture and refinement will overflow to the society in which he/she lives. 

This school also aims at giving all-around formation based upon the principles of Roman Catholic Christian faith. This Institution is primarily meant for Catholic Christian Minority and as such has the rights to administer the school according to the right guaranteed under article 30 (1) of the Constitution of India. 

ADMISSION

1. Admission is open to pupils of all communities and religions.

2. Students coming from other states must get the T.C. countersigned by the District Educational Officer of the respective State. 

WITHDRAWAL

1. Before the withdrawal of the pupil a Month's notice in writing must be given to the principal. 

2. A written application for the Transfer Certificate must be forwarded to the Principal in advance. The new destination and the reason for the making of the application must be mentioned in the application.

3. No transfer Certificates shall be issued till all the school dues paid. A duplicate copy of transfer certificate shall be granted only for adequate reasons in which case a fee of Rs. 100/- is to be paid.

UNIFORM

On all working days and for all school functions student should wear the school uniform.

PUNCTUALITY AND ATTENDANCE

1. Each pupil must attend the class regularly. The working day is divided into two sections. The Morning session is from 8.40 a.m  to 12.20 Noon and Afternoon session is form 01.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. On Saturdays, the school works from 8.40 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

2. At the first bell in the morning all the pupil's should be Present for the assembly. 

3. Absentees will not be allowed to attend classes without producing valid reasons in the "Leave Record". 

4. Absence on the first day of each term will be considered as a serious offence. Applications for leave on these days must be explicit and if on medical grounds, should be supported by a medical certificate.

COMPUTER EDUCATION

Computer Education forms part of the School curriculum from KG. The computer course structure is designed in such a manner that all are the options required for and effective learning from gross root level upto senior classes are kept in mind to gain a professional environment and fit into present computer age competence with multimedia, Internet facility, Web Designing, and Java courses to inspire and make learning wonderful experience. Students are kept abreast with fact changing information technology. 

SMART CLASS INTERACTIVE DIGIBOARD SYSTEM

Smart Class Interactive Digiboard system in an integrated compact teaching system installed in class rooms. The purpose of the smart class programme is to empower teachers with technology right inside their classrooms. The program enables teachers to use digital resources such as graphics, animations, 3D Images and Video clips in addition to the chalk and talk method of teaching in their day to day teaching life the result is completely new multisensory learning experience for students and help them to improve their academic performance.

School Fees

Fees are to be paid on a term basis. Fees for each term must be paid during the first week after the term commences. No student who has not paid the fees will be allowed to sit for the term or annual examination. The school would be in a position to issue transfer certificate or   any other documents only to those who have paid all their dues to the school
